One of the advantages of Teams is its ability to integrate with OneDrive to synchronize folders and files to your local computer. Before we begin : The instructions and descriptions below require that the most recent local versions of Teams and OneDrive are installed on your computer. Our mail server is office and cloud based but our staff have Outlook installed on their laptops and connect to the cloud to get email.
For instance there is a folder on her old laptop that has 17 emails in her managers inbox and 4 older emails in the online archive for her manager as they are over 2 years old.
Further to this issue, she now reports her manager sent an email and instead of it showing up in the asssitants sent items as it normally would, its stuck in the outbox on her old laptop, her new laptop and even her mobile phone.
So it appears we have essentially 2 different sync issues now as Originally I thought just the new laptop was not working right.
Is there a lot of items and lots of folders in the delegate mailbox? I’ve seen major sync issues in the past with shared mailboxes when there are over a certain number of folders, and some of the folders then stop syncing properly.
This was in Outlook Microsoft acknowledged the issue in a support case and we tried temporarily converting the mailbox to a user mailbox with a licence and logging into it inside Outlook properly no delegation which fixed the issue.
I know this delegated access is required, but what happens if you add the managers mailbox to Outlook using their credentials? It may be easier to do this under a separate Outlook profile. Do the items sync now? If so, what happens if you reduce the amount of data to cache on the delegated version of the mail? Doing that solves a variety of shared folder issues for us. The delegate mailbox is of a senior manager and there are many folders so that could be part of the issue but the strange thing is her old laptop has synced well.
The sent email synced up this morning at least. I have removed the mailbox from her outlook and we will re add it and see if it syncs better this time. However, it seems outlook spy doesn’t work for these folders. Any help would be appreciated, I have several email accounts and I want to be able to see all the folders without scrolling. The amount of space these folders waste is just ridiculous.
